Our sincere thanks to Sammy Fyfe, whose bake sale raised £440 in support of the Captain David Seath Memorial Fund. The event was held at Carnock and Gowkhall Community Hall on Sunday 10 June 2018, which was well supported by the local community.
Sammy produced a delicious range of sweet and savoury baking for the event as well as homemade rhubarb jam. Guests also had the opportunity enter a raffle, which included a fantastic range of restaurant, activity and beauty vouchers.
Sammy also set up a just giving page for those who could not attend on the day and our sincere thanks to everyone who donated in support of the Captain David Seath Memorial Fund.
Gary Seath said:
“We are delighted that Sammy’s bake sale has proved a huge success and very grateful for the considerable effort she has made with regards to baking a wonderful array of treats as well as promoting the event and The Captain David Seath Memorial Fund.”
The Captain David Seath Memorial Fund has raised £280,000 and provided over two-hundred and fifty welfare grants to personnel and veterans of the British Armed Forces living with life-changing physical injuries and psychological trauma through Help for Heroes, the charity David was running for that tragic day.
David’s memorial fund is making a huge and lasting difference to its beneficiaries. Every donation made in his memory is used to support Help for Heroes’ Quick Reaction Fund (QRF) which provides specialist sports equipment, respite breaks and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) therapy, as well as facilitating supported employment placements, training courses and the setting up of small businesses.
