Brian Seggie recently received a financial grant through The Captain David Seath Memorial Fund and has very kindly permitted us to share his letter of thanks sent to the Seath family.
“I would like to send my sincere condolences to your family for the very sudden and tragic loss of such a dedicated and charitable officer who clearly cared for the soldiers in his command. I am one of the many beneficiaries that have benefited from The Captain David Seath Memorial Fund through Help for Heroes. The financial grant enabled me to purchase sporting equipment which allowed me to train and compete at the recent Warrior Games, West Point Academy, New York.
“I am a soldier in the Recovery Pathway and have numerous combat related psychological injuries and when I am training or competing, it really compliments my formal medical treatment which is very challenging.I can assure your family that due to this generous grant, David has left a legacy to support wounded, injured and sick personnel now and well into the future.
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for enabling me to achieve my personal best at the Warrior Games whilst representing the UK Armed Forces. I will continue to do my best in all that I do in David’s memory.”
The Captain David Seath Memorial Fund was established by the Seath family and Help for Heroes following the tragic death of Captain David Seath, who was running the London Marathon in support of Help for Heroes Official.
The Captain David Seath Memorial Fund has, to date, provided over 150 financial grants as a means to support wounded, injured and sick personnel and veterans like Brian rebuild their lives through Help for Heroes.
