#InvictusGames Medallist JJ Chalmers records message of thanks to Captain David Seath Memorial Fund #golfday Supporters

Help for Heroes elite athlete, Invictus Games medallist and BBC sports presenter, JJ Chalmers, has recorded a special message of thanks to supporters of the Captain David Seath Memorial Fund Golf Day.

The fund was established following Captain David Seath’s tragic death, who was running the London Marathon in support of Help for Heroes.

The Captain David Seath Memorial Fund has raised over £298,000 which has been used to support personnel, veterans and their families in David’s name, through Help for Heroes.

Funds were previously used to support 148 beneficiaries through Help for Heroes’ Quick Reaction Fund (QRF) as a means to support structured recovery pathways concerning life-changing physical and psychological wounds.

Funds are now uses to support over 800 personnel, veterans and their families in communities across Scotland, through Help for Heroes Fellowship Programme, as a means to build networks of support and solidarity at a local level.

As a Help for Heroes elite athlete and Invictus Games medallist, former Marine, JJ Chalmers has rebuilt his life following life-changing physical wounds suffered as a result of an IED Blast in Afghanistan.

JJ is also a member of Help for Heroes’ Fellowship Programme, who kindly recorded this message of thanks.
